Veterinary Technician, Credentialed Merrimac Valley Animal Hospital (Amesbury, MA)

The technician is leveraged to perform what you have gone to school for and been trained to do with excellence:
- Client education, charting, financial transactions
- Administration of vaccines, fluids, injections
- Triage, patient care, surgical monitoring & recovery
- Radiography & venipuncture
- Dental scaling & polishing
- Restraint & hygiene services
- Filling scripts
- Stocking & facility upkeep
- A welcoming, full-visibility reception area where animals can be given their space.
- Three spacious exam rooms each equipped with a versatility table, a computer, credit card terminal, and a phone.

As a Veterinary Technician at Piscataqua Animal Hospital, activities may include (depending on experience & ability) or develop up to:
- Patient history and vital collection
- Proper patient restraint
- Electronic charting and financial transactions
- Client communication and education
- Hygiene services
- Filling prescriptions, stocking and cleaning
- Vaccine, fluid, injection preparation and administration
- Venipuncture and lab processing
- Surgical assistance, anesthetic monitoring & patient recovery
- Triaging critical situations
- Setting up and performing radiographs

This job is physically active and requires frequent bending and standing for long periods of time. Let's not forget manual dexterity to pet and love our amazing patients, oh, and to also type on the keyboard. It requires being able to lift 40 pound Fido and restraining him or others when necessary. You must also love the way dog & cat hair look on you.
